Lake Simcoe WhiteFish Olympics
« on: February 28, 2010, 02:35:54 PM »
What a great day! A few of us met up and did a morning fish before the hockey game this afternoon and the whiteys were on fire!

Lots of pics and videos to share, I'll just upload them raw as I wont have time today to make it into a movie.

RedFisher was our Gold Medal winner as he was the first GoFish'er to put two whitey's on the ice.
Mike S took silver and Horseshoe was our bronze medal winner for getting their limits.

Scotty lost a nice one at the hole, Peachy iced one, Big Al, caught one early, lost a quick 2nd one, and finished up by putting the fish on notice he was ready to go home and another whitey jumped on his line immediately. Check out the video, the lure pops out right at the hole, luckily the fish cant swim backwards and gives Al enough time to scoop him out of the hole!

So most of us got our limit or at least one to take home which was great. One fish, had an old  hook still in its fin when it was put on the ice.

So should be a great prelude to next weekend and our final M&G for the ice season!!

ps: we also had a visit from the ministry validating our licences - glad to see them out there!

As you can see the fish was to heavy to carry back to my bike any way I like them fresh when I go home that way I can use the crow bar to settle them down before cleaning

ok the video is fixed, I merged it all into one, added some tunes and changed it from .avi to .wmv which seems to work better. It's a rough edit but still some nice fish and a few good laughs in there!  Its  in the original message so you'll have to scroll back to the top to see it.

regards, Mike.

ps: if you right click you can zoom and make it full screen if you wish. easier to view.

I should mentioned too, I just found out that our new member to the board, Prata, was there as well for a bit with another Mike (they know Horsie), and brought up the fish that had been 'prehooked' in the fin!

Welcome to the board Prata!

Great Video and looks to me like the Whities are turning on now. All the wild life have been messed up (deer in the fall, Bass last summer still spawning, and then white fish throught the ice) so when you finally get them they are all that more fun. Were all the fish caught on basically the same lure?
