Ontario Back lakes
« on: January 27, 2010, 09:11:58 PM »
Well with the temp dropping and Simcoe firmming up the sled was out. Time to investigate some back lakes. Some days it can be a bit to get into.

Lots of slush on these lakes.

Even some of the low lying passage ways were wet.

Always rewarded by some great views.

Rode 61 km today and found some great places to dip a line next time.

Hope things firm up a bit.

Love my Tundra.

I haven't been able to get out for an adventure lately.
Now thanks to you, I've seen some pretty country side.
Thanks for taking me along RR!

All the tracks were mine. A little worried sometimes venturing that far back solo. Ice seemed good just lots of slush. I think my Grand Touring may have bogged down in a few of these spots. Talked to some hunters/trappers and they showed me where they used to go in their younger days. And I thought I was adventurous. Did tell me about a new crappie lake.

I'm using a Garmin Marine mount. You can also use a Ram mount. I like it behind the windshield as it keeps it from freezing up. You can go to gpscental.com and find your gps. Go to the accessories and it will show all the mounts made for your gps. If you mount it on the handle bars it is the first thing to "possibly" break if you rolled over.
