I was on travel and working in Stockholm, Sweden last month (April). Should have been home Saturday April 17 after two weeks work, but then I was stranded in Sweden for about a week due to airspace and airports shut down in Europe at the time (due to Volcanic ash from Iceland). So I went fishing right in the heart of downtown Stockholm, Sweden, outside the Royal Palace, and next to the City Hall (there are Brackish-water rivers/streams everywhere in downtown area, leading to the Baltic Sea), and I caught two nice Sea Trout (local people call it "Sea Trout", but it might be Salmon?), one about 1.5 lbs and the other 2 lbs. Lost a big one after a long fight!:-)

Hey xiaolu,
I read about the thousands of people stranded in Europe because of the Volcanic eruption.
I hope that it wasn't too much of an inconvenience for you ...  ;)

I loved the pics of the area and it must have been great to catch a few salmon that close to the downtown area.

Thanks for sharing ... droolin' ~ Dokdok

Hi Dokdok, thanks!

Yes I was stranded in Sweden for a week. But it was really not a big problem for me (other than came back home a week late). I was on business trip, and there were tons of work to be done on-site in Stockholm for our customers. So I simply continued my work there with everything (food, drink, hotel, transportation,...) still paid by the company.  I mean compared with hundred of thousands of people who were on vacation, etc and got stranded, with no money left, and not to mention at some of the big airports in Europe (at Frankfurt, London and Paris, for example) many travelers got stranded and with no visa (they were from India, China, etc) they could NOT leave airport, so they simply stayed day and night in waiting areas by boarding gates at airport for days!
