When my grandfather was alive often we (my father, grandfather & I) would go out on Lake Erie for some early season Salmon Fishing.  Of course that was during the 80's when the salmon fishing in Lake Erie was at it's peak.  Anyhow more to the point of this reply, during a salmon outing we had 3 Jumbo Perch slam the Blue & Gold JohnsFly being trolled behind a Size 0 Luhr Jensen Nickle Dodger nearly 40 feet down and fight like a Chinook!  Those perch were all 3-4 pounds and looked more like Bass than Yellow Perch.  But the unmistakable marking definitely made them Jumbo's!!

Oh yes, there are some big perch in Lake Erie boys... You just have to be lucky enough to find them!

Keep your lines wet... Nice weather on the way...

BTW - Still some Walleyes being caught in the Thames out near Delaware and beyond about 5kms.  Just have to be willing to do some trekking to get to the river to find them.  But they are definitely out there.

Catch your limit, but limit your catch.
