Steelhead at the dam
« on: April 29, 2012, 06:32:40 PM »
I was visiting my brother (BassMan) on the weekend and we made time to watch the bows climbing the dam. It was a quick trip more for observation ... and these fishers are like statues out there, perched on rocks and tossing roe bags on 7 to 12 foot rods.
Seen a few caught too. Water level was down compared to a week ago. A good pair of sunglasses and having a lot of patience would give you an advantage out there now.

The only thing I regret, is not having a pair of hip waders and a couple more hours for some fishin' fun. My brother returned today with his waders and hooked into a a 30 incher ... woohoo! That was worth the trip!

Here's some pics I took on Saturday ...

Since we couldn't get out to play with the bows, we tried our luck from shore (searching for catfish). We only had about a half hour to wet a line ... unfortunately no catfish found ...
My brother had a couple incidental catches which were returned safely and then it was time to leave.
It was fun while it lasted.   ;D

Nice dokdok! Good to see the steelheads are still milling around there :D I thought they had mostly finished spawning.

Thought I should give you an update ....
Me brother (Dok6) has waded the waters a few more times since my last visit (No pics to share at this point). Still a few being caught out there Ken.
Hope he lands one soon, I'm getting hungry  ;)
