Had some really nice weather lately and have taken advantage of the mornings on the weekend with my 76 year old Grandpa Chuck! Always a great time and the fish are always a bonus.
First outting two weekends ago we fished the Saturday and trolled everything from Erie Dearies to crank baits and had no luck but it was a really enjoyable outting.
Last weekend we went out the Saturday and Sunday mornings at Pointe Anne and trolled mainly Erie Dearies in yellow and orange and long lined them and I through on the planer board on Saturday morning. Saturday we managed 2 wallys in the 17-19" range, great table fare. Even got a video of my Grandpa reeling in one of them, I got the other fish on the board, got to really pay attention to the offshore boards, if it isnt a fish of fair size you barely see the board move, the pop up flags help that but if you pay attention to the board youll see it move slightly, usually thats a hit or a fish on. Heres a couple videos from that morning.

Grandpa snagged into a nice 22lb Channel Cat and also managed a 4lb Walleye. I had a hot hand with perch that morning, 5 perch all around 10-11`` made for a great lunch. Sorry wish I would have taken the cam as well that morning but I somehow forgot it in my car. Always greatful to get out with my Grandpa, he is the reason I fish and love it. Hope everyone is having a great year so far. Cant wait for ice fishing this hot weather is already starting to get to me.....
