I posted this a few years ago and if you google it you will find lots of information. For those shore fishing it can be of concern and have serious consequences...heres a link to the recent ottawa story

Always knew this stuff was a problem, but when I started reading up on it and related species I found out something I didn't know - the related cow parsnip, which is native and common, can also cause trouble: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cow_Parsnip

today on 680 news there was a blurp on this and they said many areas near us have had some found including york region oakville and a few other places ...so its here ..just be careful.

There was a clip on the VR news last night about it... Much closer than I thought.
