FICN19 CWIS 221700  Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at  12:00 p.m. EST Thursday 22 December 2011 for today tonight and  Friday. 
 The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 p.m. Friday.    
Lake Superior.  Ice free except open water along the shore including 9 plus tenths of  thin lake ice in Black Bay and western Nipigon Bay.
 2 tenths of new  lake ice in eastern Nipigon Bay, western Thunder Bay and Chequamegon  Bay.    
Whitefish Bay.  Open water except 1 tenth of new lake ice along portions of the  southern shore.    
Lake Huron.  Ice free except 1 tenth of new lake ice along portions of the shore.    
North Channel.  Open water except 2 tenths of new lake ice along the shore.    
Georgian Bay.  Ice free except open water along the northeastern shore including 1  tenth of new lake ice in the bays.    
Lake St. Clair.  Ice free.    Lake Erie.  Ice free.    
Lake Ontario.  Ice free except open water in the northeastern portion of the lake.    
Lake Michigan.  Ice free except for 9 tenths of thin ice along the northern shores of  the Bays de Noc. 
2 tenths of thin lake ice along the southern shores  of Green Bay.    The Lake Michigan ice description has been prepared by the U.S.  National Ice Center.    End
