I voted, did you? No big surprise on the outcome ....
But, I have to admit, I was a little surprised on how poorly the Liberals performed.

agreed. And I did my part. No surprises. And now no more excuses. Kind of nice to see the Bloc Quebecois and Liberals get such a wake up call. Big rise for the NDP as well.

Glad the Conservatives got a Majority.
Glad the Bloc got hammered.
Glad the Liberals got knocked down, way down.
Afraid for the NDP. Too much power too soon. They will be like the dog that caught the car, what do we do now?? How will they handle Quebec?
The next 4 years are going to be entertaining!!

One more thing I did VOTE, wouldn’t have missed this one for the world!!!

LMAO at dokdok.
I had the dubious delight of having two conservative candidates. Poor ol' Helena (running as an independent conservative) didn't gain too much sympathy and is now completely out of Harper's hair after being kicked out of caucus. I can't for the life of me understand why this lovely lady and devoted mother who is married to a pillar of society didn't do better. Everyone is entitled to a mistake or two, such as snorting a line of coke from a stripper's breast and undergoing an inexcusable meltdown at the Charlottetown airport!! Good riddance!!
Wonder how long it will take Harper and his party to legislate the current firearms act out of existence?? Realistically they have far more important matters economically with which to be dealing but it would be nice to see a quick followup on this election promise. I've read a number of analyses as to why the results panned out the way they did but just maybe the citizens of Canada have grown tired of voting every eighteen months and figured the Conservatives were the only party currently that could gain a majority and give us a four years respite from the expensive and exasperating process of federal elections.
I am no fan of Michael Ignatieff but have to give him credit for the class he showed in his post election speech. Good luck to Happy Jack and his gang in convincing Quebec they did the right thing. Great to see the Bloc self-destruct. Ludicrous to imagine a party set on separating from the rest of Canada sitting as the opposition party.

Many years have passed since I was young enough to know everything!!
