Your welcome Mike .... best we all share ways to help the budget minded eh  :D

Hmmm ... well bait co$ts are up; u might try netting your own minnows, or pull your own worms to save a few bucks (fresh is always best eh)!

Sharpen the hooks on some of those old lures collecting dust and rust, instead of buying new ones .... they probably work better at catchin' fish anyway ...

Cash in those empties you have layin' around the garage ... you'll get some xtra points from wifey eh! PS. hide the paint and rollers ... she might get the idear you need to finish the job you started last spring!

Hope to wet a line this weekend ... hope you do too!
Good Luck  ;)

Saving fuel ... (continued)

  • Change engine and lower unit oils, air and fuel filters and spark plugs.
  • Have the engine tuned.
  • Make sure the propellers are not damaged.
  • Clean the boat bottom.
  • Remove unnecessary weight -- but be sure to keep emergency equipment onboard.
  • Back off the throttle.
  • Find your boat's planing speed, and stay there. Traveling on a plane reduces hull drag.
  • Don't leave the engine idling.
  • Monitor fuel consumption to determine if your fuel-efficiency efforts are working.
  • Use a Global Positioning System to plan routes in advance.
