It's kinda sad to read about Hut Break-ins all winter - people losing there tackle, stoves, etc - notwithstanding the damage inflicted on the doors of the Huts.
But this one takes the Rodent Cake Award of 2010.....
Quoting from another source:
I live in Lefroy and was fishing near Belle Ewart.
I usually drill about 20 holes to start and then I walk about fishing them.I was about 100 yards away from my auger.
By the time I realized what had happened the snow machine was heading north a hell of a lot faster then I could run.
My fish was broke into on Friday night, but as the sign on the front door says "nothing of value is left inside",didn't stop the thieves they still had to look.I guess it could be worse ,could have happened back in December.
Mark
This happened this past weekend. (His Hut was broken into Friday nite prior to this incident on the ice this weekend)
This Rodent, for lack of a better word to describe this thief, watched Mark drill the holes, and when he was far enough away, swooped in, grabbed the 10" Jiffy Power Auger and roared away with Mark running behind him.......
What is happening to our Society (??); when a thief brazenly steals anothers life's pleasure in broad daylight. I doubt this mutation will ever get what he so rightly deserves - Jail -
Sorry to hear this Mark,
