Lake Simcoe Warning
« on: March 03, 2012, 09:53:45 AM »
The wind has opened up the lake. At Willow Beach there is open water 1/2K from shore. White caps!

Beautiful sunrise this morning, new snow on the ground and it's minus 12c.

Gotta love March..........................lol Now if we can just get rid of the lake on top of the lake, maybe we can get back out there.

Updates later today, first hand,

bobby

Hi Rick

Power was flickering last night so I shut everything down.

Travel on the Bay surrounding Beaverton - excellent.
No new pressure cracks
Shoreline at Hales in Beaverton is still a little rough
Centennial Beach is very good - shoreline in tact - lot's of ice.
Trent Canal - open, out approx 300 metres into the lake

Hi Gord,

Did a tour today West to almost Georgina - East of Thorah - 3" of water on the ice surface as of 2pm today. Ice - most area's - 10 - 12".
Virginia B - Fishing has been pretty good - locals are doing well, so the fishing is good - however I did not drive that far over to check the ice.

I would imagine there water on the surface there as here.

Now it's suppose to turn colder Friday - so who knows. Best bet would be to call Toll Free: 1 866 484-9959 or 905-722-5735 - Dave's Fish Huts. Make sure he has minnows in - I heard he was out - or you'll be going to either Sutton or Beaverton.

stay safe,

bobby
