I have used my medium rated 33" Walleye rod coupled with a Shimano lite spin reel.

Most of the walleye I've caught have been off a wooden jig stick. I can feel the tap much better than my rod - maybe because my stick is 16 inches overall.

Last years BOQ - Just Peachy caught a nice walleye using a Marmish Rod
