have you ever thought .....WHY ????
« on: December 23, 2009, 05:51:01 AM »

 hey all im sitting here after deciding not to go ice fishing this morn
(burrrrr) and started thinking of what my wife said to me yesterday,well shes really said it bout 100 times  ;D,and that is ............................................

 what makes a man/women go out in the very cold wheather ,walk a mile or even 2 pubch a hole threw the ice sit on a cold bucket and wait for a fish to swim by his or her her hole,while all the time shaking cause your cgilled to the bone.
    so my ? to you all is WHY do you do it

 as for me its just in my blood,my grandfather was a very well known hunting/fishing guide for almost 50 years and i went with him sense i was 6 so i guess thats how i got started cause my dad never fished....

   i also love the smiles on peoples faces when i take em out and they catch a few eyes then tell ya how it happened...

   Hawg.....

I will start.....
I think it is the fact that I usually fish alone, even when group fishing I spend a lot of my time just outside of the group.
I like to watch and listen to the true fishing stories that you hear from one to another around you when sound travels so much clearer on the open ice. I love the sunsets and if out early enough I appreciate the rays of sun on a new day. I love the new fisher kid or aged that catches or almost puts one on the ice, now there is a smile. I like the way almost most foes can put aside the differences on the ice and have a good time.

But most of all it is the feel of appreciation I get when by myself, miles away from others and all I see and hear is ....................shhh want to hear it again.........................................
now that is when I feel so insignificant and love being out there to appreciate it.

~~~For me, it's my time to totally unload all the stress, that get from work with, managers smiling at you telling you your doing a great job, and yet you can feel the knife going deeper every time they open their mouth. had one call me on the weekend demanding I come into work or look for a nother job, told her I'll be right there as soon as I could catch a flight out of Thunderbay, next morning, or she could call my Co. office and talk with them. She no longer works here.
It makes you feel alive being surrounded by nature ... soft or hard water, I enjoy it all ...
I truly love fishing and since being introduced to the ice a couple years back, I dream of being out there all the time. Feeling the crunch of ice under your feet, and the frosty weather biting at ya as you carry your gear to your favorite spot of the day. And best of all, there is always a partner or friend near by willing to offer a hand or share a tip to help you catch a monster when your luck is down!
The never ending lessons learned, challenge and friendship is probably the most valued for me and I can't wait to do it again soon!
Pics. of what I see when I fish and just wonder.....................a panoramic view of 360 degrees from my fishing spot at 6:00pm tonight. Ice is so hard and clear the shoreline lights just bounce and glare off the ice. This is why I love ice fishing!!!!!!!!
