There was a slight freezing rain this afternoon, Little bit of water on top of the ice, below zero for the night.

3 guys out fishing today, one with a few dozen jumbo perch, and the other group, pulled in a pike and some perch while i was out there marking the area, with marking paint.

I will be on the bay at 7:30 in the morning setting up.

Todays event went well,

A few less participants than originally thought, And a few participants forgot to read the rules thoroughly and came out At the end of the event.

We were able to raise a little bit of coin for the ringwood hatchery facility.

We were also able to gather ice anglers from across southern ontario, our furthest traveler today came from London ontario.

The fishing was not easy today, A person really had to work for their fish as one NON participant showed everyone on the ice.
But I made a new friend with him, and he is more than interested in our next event....

First place winner:
for 110 dollars, a charter on lake ontario, a Rocket prize pack, and a gift certificate to SAIL.
went to Paul, an avid frenchmans bay angler with 2 pike @ 4 lbs 3 oz. and 2lbs 11 oz

Second place winner:
For 80 dollars, a Rocket prize pack and a gift certificate to SAIL.
went to brandon with 2 pike weighed in @ 3lbs 4oz, and 3 lbs 6 oz

Third Place winner:
For 50 dollars and a rocket prize pack.
went to Jeff and his 2 daughters, with 6 perch weigh in, largest @ 10 oz, --9, 8, 5, 3, 2 ounce weights also.

Fourth place winner goes to John Bacon, a MEA volunteer.
For a rockets prize pack, with a Perch weighed in at 9 oz.

Fifth place went to a Father/son team Beavis and Butthead (Dan&Dan) ...
They made the trip all the way out From London ontario, and earned themselves a gift certificate to Sail.

I have pictures waiting to be loaded, forgot to make sure I had the camera, Ill get them loaded up shortly....

Please stay posted for our Next frenchmans Bay tournament.

Dan-Sr. And Dan-Jr.,    It was a pleasure to meet you guys today  Thank you for driving all that way from London, Your acknowledgement and support means allot to me.    I hope to meet  with you guys in the future for more fishing excursions...

Hey Beavis and Butthead,  you know that young Guy  Justin  that was pulling fish out everywhere???

He pulled a Nice 3 lbs largemouth Bass out of your hole  just before i left..

That young guy is a really good ice hunter,  And a great sportsman   he definitely grabbed the most fish out of everyone on the ice put together,  and he Puts them all back,  Just does it for the fun, says its healthier than a video game.

Glad I did this event i met some good people today..

I Snuck away from Work this morning and Had my first hole drilled by 8:15 am....

Too bad the fishing wasnt on this morning....

I stayed out till 4:00,   and it seemed the fish started Biting, just about 2:30 - 3:00....

 I ended up going 2 for 6,

I think my hooks were a little too small  for the big pike......

Got a picture of one nice size to show off anyway...

That is just about the 30 inch Mark.....

Was thinking of Heading north tomorrow, But I  Just might stay close to home and hit some more of these   beauties....

Met a young fellow on the ice today that showed me a picture of a 48 incher he iced just last sunday.....

Great quality fishing, When the Fish are biting......

Read this thread twice - Congartulations to everyone that participated to date.

Jeremy - great job in tough conditions. With 2 tournaments to work out logistics and ice conditions it makes it difficult for me to attend. Trust me I wish I were there :) .

Beavis (Dan) your a trooper for making the drive!!

Thanks to all for supporting such a worthy cause,
