Chumming Legal or Not?
« on: December 22, 2011, 08:47:54 PM »
I've checked the latest Fishing regs  and can't find anything about chumming. My question, is it legal or  not? Where can this information be found?

Yes legal in most places.
If using salted minnows they count as part of your 120 baitfish limit until down the hole.

Chumming –
The act of adding feeding stimulants in the water in the area being angledwith the goal of attracting fish. Attractants can include groundbaits, boilies, dead fish or
fish parts, roe, pet food or plant seeds. Chum materials are considered organic bait.
That definition came off a mnr page but was dated 2006..... not sure if its still same but imagine it is.
I use corn for carp which is considered a plant seed. But I also use farm corn which comes hard, I boil it as much as possible to not cause a block in the carps digestive system or any other fish that may consume it.  Can corn is ideal but much more costly.
