Cabela`s ATV cover
« on: November 12, 2011, 01:42:14 PM »
I think I`m finally ready......this cover seems like it will work great to keep that road salt and ice off while trailering ....can`t believe how it fits over the two milk cartons on the back ,the two up seat and the auger on the front .....bring on the ice ....

Looks good! We will hardly recognise you on the road.

Time to get back out side to work on mine.

Just a question Baldeagle . Is this a cover or travelling cover . ?  I've just seen the parking covers that are like yours and they are boxy like the one in the pic whereas my trailering one is more contoured to the bike and allows better air flow . I use mine for both and it goes over windshield too . Good thing to have regardless because salt plays hell on bikes but I'm often in a hurry and dont put mine on and it shows . :D

I actually just bought a cover for mine.. the driving reason behind it was its being stored in a farm shed over the summer so to keep dust and bird poop off the actual bike after cleaning it so well..  I could have gone with a cheaper one (Royal had them in their tent sale for about 20 bucks) but was concerned about fit, and figured I wanted one for trailering to keep the salt off as well.

I have a Polaris X2 which has the dump box on the back instead of a rack. So I went OEM and paid through the nose but got the one that's trailerable as well. My only other option was from EBay, but after reading the feedback from some, decided against them.

I didnt try it with the windshield but it didnt look like it would fit very well.. maybe I'll try in the fall.. my windshield is a quick connect/release so not the end of the world.
Good things come, to those who bait.

trapper.....my cover is a traveling one as well ....it is a boxy looking thing but fits well over my auger on the front and my milk crates on the back .....it is heavy denier and has an access zippered opening over the fuel fill ....it is also vented for good air flow .....plastic strap clips are a little cheap but i added some rope tie downs .....worked great this past winter and even at 100 km it didn`t even flap or move .....you do have to remove the windshield, but mine is like Mikes and removes in seconds .....i am quite happy with it ....and it sure keeps the crud off the bike when travelling

Good points lads and if they work why mess with it ,right ? My bike has took a beating because of salt and my laziness to put the cover on even for thirty mile trips . I like my cover but sometimes I'm in a hurry and don't put it on . It covers windshield for travel even,, but I reccommend taking shield off as you do . Some lessons I have had to learn the hard way because nobody knew or had advise . LOL

My bike is in garage most days and I get in a scurry to load it in winter to go fishing . Me bad . :-[
