Lake Simcoe Specific Rules:
20.   Entry fee: $20.00 per person, must be paid prior to start of tournament
21.   Fishing times will be Feb 26, 2011 from 8am to 3pm. All fish must be recorded by 3:30pm.
22.   Largest fish will be counted for awarding of prizes, additional fish may be included as prizes allow
23.   Prizes will be distributed that evening at a local restaurant (see website for details).
We will hold our get together at the Wild Wing, Hwy 12 N at Brechin Ontario. Drive time from Beaverton Harbour to the Restaurant, approx 12-15 minutes.

You will find that information - Top Header - 2011 Hardwater Challenge"

"Lake Simcoe Specific Rules"

Hi Bobby, under "Lake Simcoe Specific Rules", I only see

"Fishing times will be Feb 26, 2011 from 8am to 3pm. All fish must be recorded by 3:30pm"

But where (the spot) do we meet or launch by 8:00AM on Feb 26? I mean, I searched all of the related posts here, but didn't find the spot mentioned (like Part 1 of the challenge in Bellveville for which there were posts here in advance telling everyone to meet at the launch area off Herchimer Street, for example)

(I have never been to Beaverton, so perhaps everyone here but me, by default knows the spot to get onto ice :-)

Thanks again, James

You have never been to Beaverton??

Once you fish this target rich enviroment, you'll never look back............lol

Beaverton Harbour is quite small and you can't miss the entrance to the Parking Lot on the Ice. There will probably be 200 vehicles there or better. We will be to the left side of the ice lot - when looking at Thorah Island  - in front of you looking West.

You will see our Banner - GoFish

The Restaurant is open at 6am

Minnows are available at Hales Office located in the ice parking lot.

Wild Wing is 12 to 15 minutes away for prizes and fun. Less if you take my advice...lol

Questions and suggesstions are always welcome,

Ok Bobby thanks, and this time I think I get it: I did a Google map search, and found the spot at the end of Simcoe St/Harbour Park Crescent where there are "Barney's" and "Floyd Hales Fish Huts"

"Wild Wing is 12 to 15 minutes away for prizes and fun"? This is on Friday evening the night before fishing, right?

Thanks Bobby. Still hard at it, organizing us, despite your setback. Thanks bud for all your work.
BTW - Trapper Dirk and I appear to be fishing together on the 26th. As both of us are charter members of the LSDOGC (Lake Simcoe and District Ol' Geezers Club) I'm very curious as to the handicap you'll be granting us for this event (other than fishing with each other). On second thought, don't bother as we likely won't get any fishin' done anyways. It appears that Dirk has forgotten how to remove the plow blade from his ATV so it's very likely that I'll spend the entire day fillin' in for Sly by winchin' him out of the drifts and slush again this year ;D ;) .
Many years have passed since I was young enough to know everything!!

NOTE: Depending on interest - we will entertain a Meet and Greet Fiday nite at a location yet to be determined - but in Beaverton area.

Saturday - we will be moving from the ice to Wild Wing, right after weigh in, for fun food (dutch) and prizes. This one you need to attend - if you have a fishie in contention. And even if you don't, come out and say Hi, join in the festivities and meet some really nice people!!

bobby

Well, last time I skipped the meet/dinner after fishing at Bay of Quinte due to having to get back home not too late into the night (or else having to face the possibility of going to court for divorce proceeding:-), I guess I do not NEED to but I MUST attend this one at Wild Wing right after weigh in....

Here is a map of Beaverton with the  parking areas marked. You can park on the ice in front of Floyd Hales  trailer “A” or in front of Barney's restaurant “B” or at the  west end of the fair grounds ”C”. The original map has Floyd  Hales marked near parking area B he is actually on the shore just east of parking  area A.  Harbour Park Crs is oneway noted with red arrows

SPECIAL NOTICE: There is a Johny on The  Spot on the south side of parking area B!!!!!!
