Our First - 2011 GOFISH Meet & Greet

Bay of Quinte

Saturday January 29th, 2011

The "GoFishOnt.com Hardwater Challenge"

Dear Members,

I have been asked to plan our 1st Meet & Greet, to be held January 29th, 2011 at the Bay of Quinte, Belleville.

As in the past, this event will be casual, and our focus will be on "catching fish".

There will be a small entry fee coupled with prizes and donations that will be re-distributed at our get together/dinner that evening.

I am working on securing Motel accomodations and I will be posting the Motel - Location - and cost within the next 2 weeks.

Sunday will be an optional Fish day.

I will be posting a Poll on December 15th.

Those members/friends that are attending please respond in the Poll thread. If your plans change and your unavailable to attend you can always change your poll.

As always. I encourage ideas and thoughts from members. For those members that are without transportation/Hut - please post and we'll try and accomodate.

Also note: Weather Permitting and I'll be working on updates daily and posting as we get closer to our day.I look forward to meeting you,

looks like a great time was had by all .....was just wondering if at this meet and greet most are walking or using machines .......i`ve never been to BQ and not sure how the ice is there at that time usually ....i am a walker so i was just wondering what everyone else would be doing .....wouldn`t want to be a hold up .....lol...sure looks like fun and nice fish to boot ....

bald ...its a spot where a machine is good to have but we have always been able to accomodate walkers..and the same at simcoe, last year at quinte a hut was almost a necessity...it blew a gale ...nyways if u needs help out just say so and somehow some where some one will say ...smile ur on bay of quinte...lol...no they will say get on and off u go ...if you have a hut a tow bar would be of great assistance and a helmet is necessary ...last yr we got stopped by the authorities and they seemed more concerned with the helmet issue than the fish lic . and i stand to be corrected but i think a tow bar is law too ...

thanks horseshoe ....i have a helmet but not the tow bar on the clam ....could maybe shoulder the ice cube though ,its a four man but not that heavy to shoulder for a short piece .....one of these days i`ll have a place to store some toys and i`ll have my own wheels i hope .....sounds like a great time though ..hope i can make it

Not a problem - if you would like to join in on the fun, we'll look after you.
As Horseshoe and jonnymac have offered, we will sled you out.
As far as your clam goes, I can load it on top of mine and tie it down, or perhaps you might want to wait until Dec 15th when I post the "Who's Going" Poll and perhaps you can share a hut with another member.

Just an FYI,

If anyone wants to join in on the fun at Quinte and you do not have a sled, or a hut, or for that matter transportation - pm me, as I'm now starting a list.
We will try and accomodate.
The Poll will be posted December 15th, and if your serious about going make it known what you need.

The one item that everybody should have is a decent warm float suit, if in the event we have no members with hut space. Half the time, last year we were out in the open anyhow - windy but fun nevertheless.

~~I'll be looken for a ride down there, and back plus a ride out. I'm also parcel to the Motel we had last year. and we know the staff will be upset we don't show up. Here's a few shots from last year.

thanks guys .....i`m definitely interested ,but will confirm in just a little bit ....thanks to all the offers of help ....we`ll see what we can arrange and whats needed ....wifey says i need to get some fishing partners ....she gets worried about me always fishing alone and although she loves to fish she doesn`t go as often as i would like ....you guys look and sound like my kinda people ....i`ll keep monitoring the posts and will be in touch bobbyb for sure

Looks like fun!! what area of the bay will we be fishing? I'm gonna try to make it this year. I'll bring my brother. He lives in trenton. If there's fish to be had in BOQ, he'll know where to find them.
