Short(head) Sucker Video
« on: May 16, 2012, 06:52:30 PM »

Hi everyone!

The following are some video segments from our recent one night trip to algonquin to test kayaks and cameras and get everything ready for the 2012 softwater season. With a bit of time to spare before departure, we did some shore fishing and had a chance to play around with the cameras angles.

2012 Wilderness Fishing - Suckers Don't Suck

Back to Algonquin for 8 days leaving on Friday morning. Hoping to have some polished video of walleye, channel cat and sucker fishing for your enjoyment in 10 days or so. Assuming, of course, we survive the black fly hatch ..

Thanks for watching,

Alan

Thanks dokdok!

It is a great place for fishing and camping in general. I'll be back in that area tomorrow afternoon for a week of fishing and filming and hammock swinging.

Amazing video gentlemen.. I must say when I go full screen and in 1080 mode the quality is second to none. It almost looks to be in 3D! I Also liked the worm presentation sequence that was inserted. Very nice.

regards, Mike.
Good things come, to those who bait.

Thanks for the comments Mike and baldeagle,

I cant say that I have too often targeted suckers in the past but this was a lot of fun and something we'll do again. Next week should bring some good walleye and channel cat action but when we pass this area during the week we might just stop and see if they're still there ...

Thanks again,

Alan

Love it Alan!!! It's great to see people treat these fish with the respect that they deserve, handled carefully and released gently. Too many people considered redhorse species as trash fish and handle them badly at best...or tossed on shore to die at the worst. They are truly a beautiful fish.  :)

Keep the vids coming!  ;D

Thanks for the feedback KenT, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The next video in the series, Channel Catfish, has now been posted.
